Leading a hectic life seems to be normality these days when it is actually terribly unhealthy to do so. We are constantly stressed out and worried about the things we need to do and the things we expect that we will need to do. In this article we are going to talk about fear as a cause of stress, and how planning is a valid stress reduction technique.

Some of the biggest problems and cause of stress in our life is actually just fear. When a person feels threatened, the emotions are often tangled in a web of confusion that hinders a person from seeing the problem in full light. Many of us fear the worst possible will happen, when a threat presents itself.

This is where stress reduction comes into focus, since most fears are explainable and exaggerated. If a person is at risk of loosing his or her job then the person has a legit reason to fear and stress. But if he has stress management techniques in place then he would know what to do next.

For example if we know the person is at risk of loosing a job but we don't know why. Perhaps we can assume that the person violated a policy in the workplace, or else the employers are laying off workers. If the person violated a policy in the workplace, we know that has made a bad decision in a certain area, acting on his emotions rather than using the head. Now we see that the person's stress had been self generated and if they had gone through the stress reduction motions of planning then this would never have happened.

On the other hand if the company has been firing people to cut costs then the situation would be mostly out of the person's hand. But what he could have done was work to his full potential to show the employer his worth. Part of avoiding stress in this case is planning ahead and keeping an eye out for the future. There are stress reduction techniques available to help reduce existing stress, but by planning ahead of time you can actually avoid it altogether.
